Did you know April is Stress Awareness Month? Spring can be so busy (spring cleaning, anyone?!), and in keeping with the theme of the month, we want to make sure we prioritize carving out time to unwind, de-stress, and practice some self-care.
If you’re like us, spa days are a sure way to help deal with stress. Save money and space in your packed-schedule by creating a luxurious spa day experience at home. You can even invite over friends, or bring your little ones in on the relaxation!
First thing’s first, set the environment. Play some calming music and bring out your softest, plushest towels (like these!). To really create spa vibes, you could tie some eucalyptus around your shower head and run the hot water. The smell is heavenly and the steam will help you relax.
Next up, take a bath. Soaking with some essential oils or bath salts is an incredible way to unwind. While you’re in there, read a book, sip on a glass of lemon or cucumber water, and do a face mask. And of course, lighting some candles doesn’t hurt!
After you’ve dried off with our extra plush towels or luxe, over-sized bath sheets, capitalize on your relaxation and call it an early night! After your DIY spa day and a full eight hours of sleep, you’ll feel recharged and ready to take on the world.
If you’re looking to really maximize your spa experience, here are a few more ideas:
- Give yourself a manicure and pedicure
- Practice meditating (there are a lot of apps out there to guide you!)
- Massage your neck and shoulders to ease tension
- Unplug for a few hours, no phones or computers
- Write down affirmations in a journal
