The Truth Behind 3 Popular Bedding Myths

There are a lot of myths surrounding sleep, from counting sheep to being able to catch up on lost z’s over the weekend. But the myths about bedding in particular are some of the most pervasive and the most inaccurate.

When Boll & Branch was first starting out, we realized that the information you need to make better decisions about your bedding is nearly impossible to find. After five years in the business of better sleep (and better sheets!), we wanted to debunk three of the biggest myths about bedding.

1. Thread Count Is Everything

Believe it or not, high thread count does not always mean high-quality sheets. You should look for sheets with a thread count between 180 and 400, but anything higher than 400 warrants suspicion. Some manufacturers inflate their threads using a multi-ply yarn, which results in heavier, scratchier, and less durable bedding.

2. The Best Mattresses Are Made From Foam

Foam is a closed cell material which absorbs heat and shrinks to mold to your body, ultimately resulting in a less comfortable sleep. The Boll & Branch Mattress is made with individually-wrapped coils so it's extra durable and supportive. Plus, the natural materials keep you cool while you sleep.

3. Pillows Can’t Transform Your Sleep

Whether you sleep on your stomach, side, or back, our pillows are expertly-engineered to give you the best sleep of your life. Customize your pillow by selecting your ideal fill and firmness. You will be shocked at the difference a supportive pillow encased in 100% organic cotton can make!
