Laundry Care for Quilts

  • When it comes to caring for your large bedding products, how you wash and dry them is vital to ensuring quality and longevity. What’s more, there is no open air space to allow for even drying. If large fabrics are dried in machines that are too small, the full chamber cannot tumble, high heat builds up, and the fabric can be scorched.

  • Wash in cold water with like colors

  • For colors, use liquid detergent without bleach or brighteners

  • For whites, non-chlorine brighteners and bleach may be used

  • Wash in a large capacity washing machine (5+ cu. ft. ) on a gentle cycle, and do not bleach.

  • Dry in a large capacity dryer (7+ cu. ft.) by itself on the lowest heat setting, and do not over dry.

  • If you don’t have a large capacity dryer at home, take your large bedding products to your local laundromat or dry cleaner for proper care.
