What is organic cotton velvet, and how does it feel?

Organic cotton velvet is woven with certified organic cotton in a dense, upright pile, then sheared for rich softness and luster. Unlike synthetic velvet, which can feel plastic or hot, organic cotton velvet is naturally breathable and has a softer, more supple hand feel. It's also more environmentally responsible, grown without harmful pesticides and certified free from toxins throughout production.

Why is this duvet cover dry clean only?

Cotton velvet requires dry cleaning to preserve the integrity of its pile. Machine washing can flatten or mat the fibers, permanently affecting the texture and appearance of the fabric. Dry cleaning keeps the pile upright, the color rich, and the quilting precise to ensure this duvet continues to look as beautiful as the day you bought it.

Does this duvet cover include a duvet insert?

No. The Fluted Cotton Velvet Duvet Cover includes the duvet cover only. You can purchase a duvet insert separately. We recommend our Down or Down Alternative Duvet Insert to complete your setup. The velvet cover is all-season, and pairs beautifully with any insert weight.

Is there fill throughout the entire duvet cover?

The recycled polyester fill is contained only within the quilted sections of the duvet, not throughout the entire cover. This is an intentional choice to create its exceptional finished look, as it keeps the velvet's drape fluid and natural in the non-quilted areas while adding softness and subtle dimension in the quilted platform. The organic cotton voile lining between the fill and front fabric ensures the fill stays in place and never shows through the velvet surface.
