What is the Textured Slub fabric used on the gusset?

Textured slub is a proprietary fabric developed exclusively for Boll & Branch in 100% organic cotton. It's woven with an irregular, slightly uneven yarn structure (known as a slub) that creates a naturally varied surface texture with a soft, lustrous quality reminiscent of silk shantung. On the Ligne Velvet pillow, it provides a beautiful contrast to the velvet's dense pile: lighter, more textural, and with a subtle sheen that catches the light differently.

Why is this pillow cover dry clean only?

Cotton velvet requires dry cleaning to preserve the integrity of its pile. Machine washing can flatten or mat the fibers, permanently altering the texture and appearance of the fabric. Dry cleaning maintains the pile's upright structure and keeps the velvet looking as rich and beautiful as it did on day one.
